A discussion and film screening 'If She Built A Nation- Agar Wo Desh Banati' was held at Daylogg Coworking here on Sunday.
The documentary of 60 minutes is directed by Maheen Mirza. The script was written by Richin. In this documentary Maheen has showcased the stryggle of rural women as they strive for a livelihood in their iwn town. Maheen focussed on the villages of Chhattisagrh, Raigarh and nearby.
As mines and power plants appear and grow monstrous proportions around them, rural, adivasi women from the villages of Raigarh, Chhattisgarh critique the grand plan of development of the country. Many of them have been cheated of their land and compensation, their relationship with the forest and environment severed.
As they grapple with all this, they seek justice for themselves and their communities and share their thoughts about how a country should be.
