Everyone should respect the dignity of others. It is our responsibility to protect the right to equality provided to citizens in the Constitution. Magsaysay Awardee and National Convenor of the Safai Karmachari Andolan Bezwada Wilson said this while expressing his views on the 'Narratives and Challenges Including the Excluded' at a lecture series 'Effective Change-Sustainable Results' at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis.
Wilson said how we can ask others to do the work which we cannot do. After all, he/ she is also a human being. He said that my goal is to end the practice of manual scavenging. He gave detailed information about the works being carried out in this direction. He said that wherever we are and whatever position we are holding, we have to pay attention on how we are discharging our duties. There is a need for collective efforts to remove social evils.
The Director General of the institute, Parshuram said that it is necessary to think about what is happening, why it is happening and why it is not happening in the society. He said that social, political and economic changes are complementary to each other. If one of these lags behind, then there is no overall development.
The Principal Advisor of the institute MM Upadhyay, Mangesh Tyagi, Girish Sharma and the entire staff of the institute were present on the occasion.
