Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that efforts will be made to get GI tags to make Budhni's toy products world famous by the name of Budhni. Apart from wood, other toys will also be made by forming clusters to compete with the world market. Chouhan was addressing the toy Budhni Toy Festival on Saturday. The festival, which will run till November 14, was attended by MP Ramakant Bhargava, Chouhan's wife Sadhna Singh and other public representatives.
Chouhan said that he is aware that many businessmen earn more by doing online marketing. Some online companies even sell Budhni toys at up to 5 times the price. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that he is trying to get this work done by local artisans.
The government will set up a network for this. He said that every possible effort would be made to get GI tags not only for toys but also for other products including wheat and basmati rice.
