‘BSP continues to support Cong’

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) legislator Ram Bai has told that the Congress-led State Government was quite strong in the past and even now after winning the Jhabua by-election.

Reacting to the victory of Congress in Jhabua by-election, she stated that her support would continue to Congress party. Regarding BSP's continuing with the support extended to the Congress government, Ram Bai stated that BSP Supremo Mayawati was in support to the Congress and it still continues.

Notably, Ram Bai had always been scinical to the Congress government and soon after the State government was formed in Madhya Pradesh by Congress in support of the BSP and SP legislators, she continued to criticise the State government time and again.

However, when her husband Govind Singh was named in a murder case and he went absconding, she was toned down. Later, the State government held her husband by picking his name out of the case.

Notably, the by-poll victory has helped Kamal Nath government touch the magic figure of 116 MLAs in the State assembly with the Congress reaching to the mark of 115 and Pradeep Jaiswal, an independent is already in the government with a ministerial berth.

Soon after the Jhabua win, the BJP has calmed down significantly. Prior to the polls, senior BJP leaders were available for media bytes casting aspersions on the fate of the Congress government at every given opportunity.

Ironically, soon after the results of by-poll were out, while talking to media persons, Chief Minister Kamal Nath openly challenged the BJP to topple his government.

On Saturday, PWD minister Sajjan Singh Verma, a staunch loyalist of Nath, had gone public slamming party seniors Digvijay Singh and Jyotiraditya Scindia for apparently cornering their own government in the past.
