On the occasion of World Book and Copyright Day, Cambridge University Press organised a workshop on conceptualising a book to its publishing for Classes VI to VIII students along with their teachers. The students were inducted to the procedures pertaining to copyright and permissions and later also encouraged to share their thoughts on an ideal textbook.

Speaking about the workshop Ratnesh Kumar Jha, managing director, Cambridge University Press, South Asia said: “It is rightly said that ‘a book is the force for creating and sharing knowledge and wisdom’. It is important for students to develop the respect and understanding of how high quality content is created. Through this initiative, we want to familiarise them with the publishing industry and in the process pay homage to people who have contributed in paving the way for the literati.”

Some of the schools which participated included Shriram Millennium, Ahlcon International School, Step By Step, Maxfort, Manav Rachna Faridabad, Pathways Aravali, GD Goenka, DPS RK Puram, Excelsior American School, Gurukool and Bluebells.
