After three days of fun, frolic and festivity, Waves 2013, a cultural fest of Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani Goa, themed on Hit the Rewind, culminated on November 10. Around 6,300 students participated from 95 colleges from all over India.
Over 30 sponsorship deals were cracked to organise the Comedy Night By East India Comedy crew headed by India’s top comedian Sorabh Pant.
The itinerary also had a Bollywood night by music director-duo Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani and a DJ night by Nikhil Sahini. Vishal and Shekhar’s concert left the crowd mesmerised. Waves 2013 was all the more special when Priyanka Chopra made her appearance during the concert and grooved on desi girl from the movie Dostana. Chopra who met Vishal and Shekhar in flight, sportingly agreed to do a gig during the duo’s performance.
The USP of the fest and most popular event was a fashion show including a talent hunt round for Femina Miss India. Waves 2013 tied up with Femina to host the Femina Miss India 2014 auditions (pre-regional eliminations) which was judged by Miss India International 2012 Rochelle Rao. The top three winners got direct entry to the final rounds of Femina Miss India 2014 auditions at their respective cities. Along with fashion show, there were around 52 competitions spread across music, fine arts etc.
