The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) in association with Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDA) organised a seminar on “Convergence of Company law with Insurance law” in the Capital recently. CS R Sridharan, president, ICSI; CS Vikas Y Khare, vice president, ICSI and CS Sudhir Babu C, council member, ICSI and programme director also addressed the august gathering. Speaking at the seminar, TS Vijayan, chairman, IRDA and chief guest at the event, emphasised on strengthening of the corporate governance norms for insurance companies issued in 2009. The seminar was a confluence of thoughts between practitioners, academicians and regulators to identify critical governance issues in the Indian insurance sector.
