Sandeep Singh tells Class XII students what they need to do during their long in-between exam break

The exams have started already and you have just four days or at times only one day to rehearse or touch the subject again. The fast  heart beats and fear of not remembering the things you have studied, your struggle is real and acceptable. So your sole concern is how to manage that limited time and cover all the topics. These in between breaks are crucial but at times, it also creates anxiety.

Boards are not all that mysterious, with a little careful preparation, you can kill them. All you need is to chuck out pre-exam stress and organise resources. Below are a few tips to follow.

Organise each and everything

  • Notes
  • NCERT textbooks
  • Previous 10 years question bank
  • Stationary
  • Another most important thing you’ll need: An organised study space.

A timetable for each day

Before starting over, you need a timetable. It doesn’t work like you start to read anything at any hour, that will leave you all bewildered and panicked. You need to assign specific study hours to each topic. Some topics require less time while others more. And not every topic holds the same significance. You need to be wise about the time you spend on each topic. Don’t spend much time on a topic that’s not significant from an examination perspective.

A definite everyday goal

lTo reach the ultimate objective, one should set small goals that are clear and precise. After all hard work is the key to success. Setting small goals and completing them gives you a sense of achievement and drives you to decipher the next set step. And make you learn with more conviction.

lDivide the subjects you want to do per day— Go for two subjects in a day, probably one of your interest and the other can be a language ( as mostly there are 5/6 subjects ).

lClassify — simple, moderate and strenuous, and get started. First of all, revise the topics that you have already studied well. Then head to the ones needing a little more attention. And eventually, the ones that need the most efforts.

Eat and sleep properly

The anxiety levels are ought to increase, though not to get affected, you should follow your diet chart strictly. Any compromise with the sleep pattern may leave you in a situation of distress, and I am sure that you do not want to get ill at this moment. Along with this a proper sleep of 8 hours is required, do not compromise with it, in any case.

Sleep and wake up with NCERT

The first and the last thing you should go through while preparing for boards is NCERT; it has the answers to all the problems. NCERT covers each and everything you need to study for the exam. Don’t get confused with multiple books options. Just trust NCERT, and it will never let you down. Go through all the examples, did you know facts and unsolved questions. And you are all set for the paper.
