What are the latest developments you have seen in the field of assessment testsIJ
like in learning, games are transforming the recruitment landscape by assessing candidates on simulated work like situations. These are performance based assessments where candidates are assessed while they perform prescribed tasks. These assessments are believed to be better predictors of candidates’ job success as it is assessed while the candidate is performing a task.
What is MeritTrac all aboutIJ
MeritTrac is the testing and assessment company which provides innovative assessment services to educational institutions, Government organisations, PSUs and corporate entities. A subsidiary of Manipal Global Education (MaGE), MeritTrac has been leveraging its certified test processes in transforming the way examinations are managed and delivered in India. What is the purpose of MeritTrac launching in IndiaIJ
MeritTrac was established in the year 2000 when Corporates, particularly IT / ITES companies were growing at a rapid pace. It was established to support this growth through professional pre-recruitment service that provided end to end support for corporates. At that point in time, there was no professional service provider who did this. The scene is different now. This service was needed only by some corporates then, today more and more organisations need professional exam and testing service providers.

We have the capability to administer assessments in over 350 cities and have an online test network of 215 cities. MeritTrac offers examination services from application processing to results processing. The ability to do this for multiple industries and domains makes us different from the rest. We have extensive expertise and experience of administering tests in computer based or paper base mode. This knowledge allows us to support organisations in modernising their examinations. Over 250 testing experts are supported by 1000 certified test administrators and this has resulted in us delivering high quality assessment experience consistently to our customers.
How does it workIJ
Our application processing and candidate scheduling engine has been used by 10 million candidates for applying and booking seats at different locations and batches. With the expertise and experience of developing question bank / papers for tests in over 300 domains, our certified test centers are well spread out which makes it convenient for the candidates who are taking the examination.
Tell us about the technology behind the testsIJ
Apart from online application processing, question bank management, question paper generation, AuthenTrac fraud prevention, TracMARKS-on screen result generation, game based assessment and automated spoken English assessments are also provided by us. Around 40 per cent of examination processes in a pen and paper examination also leverages technology. For paper based multiple choice question examinations, there are scanners that make the evaluation and result generation process faster and accurate. We also offer Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) for CBSE schools through our new solution — ClassTrac.

We have tied up with RM Education for delivering world class on screen marking service to customers in India. This has also helped in establishing a new service — off shore marking where expert markers in India support International customers in evaluating large volume of scripts. We have also partnered with Carnegie Speech for English language assessment and training software to improve voice and accent training.
