Indian students will get an enthralling experience of requesting images of the Earth from the International Space Station (ISS) by participating in Sally Ride EarthKAM (Earth Knowledge Acquired by Middle school students) February Mission from February 6 to 10, 2017.
Organised by Space India, the mission is administered by NASA and students, with the help of on-board Astronauts on the ISS, will get an opportunity to access the camera mounted on the ISS. During this programme, participants log in to the website and request images from the camera mounted on the ISS. Participants get a chance to capture select images of the Earth’s surface as seen from space. These images can be used in class projects in Earth Science, Space Science, Geography, Social Studies and more. Space will be conducting sessions for pre-registered students to guide them.
