Dr Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic speaks with Sangeeta Yadav about Brand Me which aims at empowering students to build their personal brand
Tell us about Brand MeIJ
It’s a campaign that raises awareness of the culture of Reckitt Benckiser(RB) and engages with the kind of talent we are looking for — people who are passionate, innovative and brand experts. Brand Me includes tools, tips and advice on building a personal brand. It aims to educate participants about brand building, realise the importance of Online Reputation Management and how one can leverage it to fulfill their career aspirations.
It’ll also help users to identify and improve various personal attributes to help build awareness and then a personal brand. It’s hard to be self-critical and understand the areas that you need to work on and where your strengths lie in your personal brand.
How does this worksIJ
The primary tool is ‘Profile Me’ which is based on the familiar ‘Would You Rather’ game where players are challenged with 20 short questions, each of which has two choices and measures players against four key traits— fearlessness, directness, cool-headedness and ambition—and at the end of the game all the choices made contribute to an individual personality profile which indicates the kind of work environments where the individual will do well.
By being able to benchmark and clean up your current digital footprint, you’ll also be able to create a unique visiting card that brings together the most important elements of your Brand Me profile. Users can use this in their e-mail signature or as a link on social media platforms.
