Bored of the typical classroom style of rote learningIJ Switch to the digital learning mode that makes education more interesting, invigorating and much more practical.
“We have introduced a one-stop learning solution where a student can browse through subjects of his choice and get information about what he is looking for albeit in a more interactive manner. The Samsung Smart learning provides an in-depth subject-wise content with elaborate multimedia tutorials, interactive lesson based exercises and practise tests, conceptual videos and collaborative learning methods. There is also a 3-D make belief zone wherein the student can apply whatever he has learnt,” explains Tarun Malik, director, Media Solutions Center - South West Asia, Samsung Electronics.
Samsung Smart learning is an education solution which has been introduced in the Indian market for the very first time and the makers are confident that this would revolutionise the education sector in the country. The aim is to supplement the educational needs of over 70 million students studying in classes 1st to 12th for CBSE boards and another 4.5 million students who are preparing for competitive exams. “In a few months we are also looking at encapsulating the ICSE and other formats within this system,” Malik tells you.
But is this technology embedded version approachable to all segments of the societyIJ “We are working on localised languages within this system. The price point is also very affordable and the UI is as simple as it could get,” he assures. The package cost of Rs 2,000 per class and could be purchased from Samsung retail outlets as well.
This is how it works — a student can browse around for a trial without having to pay anything for it. He enters his profile and browses for chapters under Science (for instance). He selects a chapter and a drop down menu gives him the options of a video narrative, textual paragraphs, a 3D zone where he could carry out his own experiments and some model test papers. If he likes what he sees, he can buy the package. It being a cloud based service, the SSl can be accessed anytime and anywhere with online and offline access points.
Is going digital the only way to better the education landscape in IndiaIJ “We are looking at a technology intervention in every aspect. Why not educationIJ This is a tried and tested version. We have been working with educationists the world over to get a feedback on this system and whether it will work in the Indian scenario and the result has been overwhelming,” he says.
