To mark the occasion of World Wetlands Day, University School of Environment Management(USEM) organised a number of programmes on the theme of 'Wetlands for Our Future at its Dwarka campus. It was inaugurated by the dean of USEM, prof Anubha Kaushik. Dr Sandeep Kumar Behera, Ministry of Water Resources, Government of India was invited to deliver expert lecture on the subject. A photo Exhibition on the same theme was also organised for the students of the university, in which Manoj Kumar, a second year student of MSc Biodiversity and Conservation was given the first prize. A documentary on the subject ‘Chilka lake and its restoration’ was also screened on the occasion. Wetlands are among the most diverse and productive ecosystems.
