IIT-M partners with digital firm Thales
Indian Institute of Technology Madras has partnered with Thales to design a Shakti RISC-V processor compatible with the highest safety critical standards. The collaboration will result in defining and prototyping a processor suitable for mix-criticality applications, including safety critical applications.
A fault-tolerant framework will be developed and will undergo evaluation by the world’s top experts in safety critical standards. Pursuant to their approval, it can be used in sensitive equipment used in defence, aerospace, space, and transportation sectors.
The processors are targeted for mobile computing devices, embedded low power wireless systems and networking systems besides reducing reliance on imported microprocessors in communications and defence sectors. The microprocessor can be used by others as it is on par with international standards.
mobile app for seamless login
Shine.com has introduced face recognition and touch ID capabilities in its mobile application. The technological milestone marks the first time that any Indian online jobs portal has integrated features designed around hardware-based tech in its mobile app.
When a user of the portal signs up on or logs into the mobile app for the first time, they are prompted to create a face/touch ID for future sessions. One user session on the application lasts for a month, after which users need to log in again.
This has ensured that users can seamlessly log back into the app without any hassle, even if they forget their passwords.
