With the announcement of interim budget 2014-15 by Finance Minister P Chidambaram, CS R Sridharan, president, ICSI welcomes the Budget as it possesses most of the ingredients to inject vibrancy into the economy. It demonstrates strong commitment for financial inclusion and governance.
CS Sridharan in particular expresses satisfaction over Government’s intention for early implementation of Financial Sector legislative Reforms Commission (FSlRC) recommendations. He opined that early implementation of FSlRC recommendation will strengthen the governance in financial sector and will contribute to its rapid growth. CS Sridharan hoped that Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Direct Taxes Code (DTC) will be operational in year 2014-15.
