The theatre club of IP University was invited to stage a play Duvidha at the university’s theatre festival organised at Sri Ram Centre Auditorium, Mandi House. The play was directed by theatre consultant of this club and a well known theatre personality Anoop Trivedi. The play based on the story of a well known writer Vijay Dan Detha, is a folk tale set in a rusting landscape of Rajasthan bringing to the fore the vagaries of intimate relationships caught in the web of traditions.
An engaging tale of love, marriage and beyond, this raises a volley of questions on identity, image and institutions. In the play, the story is told through a captivating melange of colours, characters and chorus. Mohini is on the threshold of a new life. She is excited to embark upon a journey of love, eternal joy and belongingness with her new husband lakhmichand, son of a wealthy Seth.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, prof Anil K Tyagi, dean of university school of humanity and social sciences and other senior faculty members and officials were present on the occasion.
