One of the leading test prep institutes Jamboree Education has come up with the inimitable Dream College Programme (DCP) to help students earn a coveted seat at top colleges abroad. Talking about how DCP is different from the regular Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), Aryama Dutta Saikia, COO, Jamboree Education, said: “For the first time, students will be able to prepare for SAT from Class XI onwards. DCP offers a more holistic approach to SAT and admissions. We come across students who want to study at top colleges abroad, have the means to do so but they have begun too late.”
When is the right time to begin SAT preparationIJ “That depends on the individual. Most students join us during Class XI summer break. But then they are also juggling school studies with IIT coaching and extra-curricular activities. They work hard and may or may not make it to foreign universities and later settle for private engineering colleges.
“We have students with decent SAT scores but are unable to make the cut because Indian students have weak profiles when it comes to the Ivy league, Oxford or Cambridge. They may be academically stronger than an average US applicant, but typically they have less exposure to meaningful activities. Or they don’t know how to present their achievements properly,” Saikia explained.
The DCP will not only help the student to score a high SAT, but also groom them for top colleges right from pre-high school. “The aim is to groom the student’s personality and make their profile stand out. We conduct aptitude tests and give career advise. We help them apply to international summer programmes, hold writing workshops and create convincing digital footprint. We also help with TOEFl/IElTS preparation. Post-SAT, we help with application essays, interviews, financial planning and visa,” Saikia said.
