Despite hundreds of jobs offered by private sectors, Government jobs still remain the most preferred ones for the youth. A large number of people between the age group of 20 to 25 are seen preparing for various competitive exams while working with a private company. Working and in meantime studying is a difficult job to do. But nothing is impossible if one has determination and willingness. Most of the written exams conducted for filling vacancies of Government jobs are more or less on the same pattern. However, few have a different pattern but this does not make any difference on your exam cracking strategies.

Cracking any entrance exam is not an easy task. It takes dedication and smart thinking to crack any exam. Knowing how to crack any written exam becomes easy when you have the ability to reflect on your habit especially in case of scheduling and the routine that you may or may not follow on daily basis.

As you are working all day, time management becomes essential for you. You need to make optimal use of your time by planning a strategy towards your goal. Some people think that they might have to leave their ongoing job to prepare for the exams with full devotion but that is just a myth.

How should you schedule your life during preparation time:

  • Rise early in the morning — 5.30 — and study for two hours. Initially, it will be difficult but think of your goal. Make a habit of waking up early.
  • Generally, the people come home from office at 8 pm. So, you have two hours from 9.30 to 11.30 pm to study. Just make a rule in your life that you will not sleep without studying for two hours and you will wake up early in the morning so that you can give two hours easily to your study.
  • You can easily utilise travelling time to prepare for English. In this time you can learn one-word substitution, idioms and phrases. Make it your habit.
  • Give one hour daily to current events. Then divide the time left in two parts. Read one subject at one time. Don’t mix it with the other subject. For example, if you are reading polity read polity only and if you are doing mathematics do mathematics only.
  • But when you are studying don’t read too much at one time. Take 5-10 minute breaks.
  • Now, on weekends, try to study 9 hours per day. So, in a whole week, you manage to give 42 hours (24 on weekdays and 18 on weekends) to study. On an average, 6 hours per day which is sufficient to crack the exam.
  • Also, if you intend to prepare for SBI PO, IBPS PO, SSC, CGl exams then you can join weekend classes with any reputed coaching institute near your residence or even workplace.
  • Never fall prey to temporary pleasures, make a commitment to yourself that you will use this precious time to make your life dynamic, vibrant and a life of permanent pleasure. Never think negatively and always be optimistic. Therefore, if you plan your schedule with a goal in your mind and work very hard towards it, there is no force that can stop you from doing it. This is one hard-fought battle which can have glorious results and can land you a job in the public sector.
