The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection is ever evolving organisation so they keep on changing their methodologies and recruitment process consistently to match the international standard manpower for Indian banks. So their exam patterns have also changed in recent years. Some changes are:
More focus on word problems from arithmetic.
Increase in toughness of arithmetic questions.
DI and lR section contains logic and puzzle based question earlier they were having especially data based problems.
Increase weightage of probability (although question will not be more than 5).
Nevertheless the questions are more logical and tougher than ever.
Myth about banking preparation: Earlier, it was well-known fact that the only skill that a banker requires is fast calculation skills and lots of vocabulary, knowledge of sentence errors and idioms and phrases. Now, they have changed a lot in patterns and difficulty level as well as marking schemes.
There has been significant increase in analytics based questions and the values of these questions has also been increased (by default with weighted score technique). So traditional way to prepare or what generally coaching institutes are teaching is not sufficient.
