A new education worldwide

The Kaivalya Education Foundation (KEF) and Tata Communications recently launched a digital enablement initiative to provide an inclusive and personalised learning platform for head teachers, teachers and students to enhance quality education and school leadership. This is in keeping with the UN’s SDG on providing inclusive and quality education for all. The digital enablement initiative was launched under A New Education Worldview (ANEW) — an education transformation programme jointly undertaken by Kaivalya Education Foundation (KEF) and Tata Communications. KEF is a social change organisation working in the field of education in India.

This programme will eventually be rolled out across 110 Government schools in Gurugram and is aimed at enhancing the teaching and learning environment by bringing about uniformity in the education imparted in Government schools. This is expected to help overcome some of the major challenges Government schools face today including outdated curriculum, lack of innovative teaching methodologies, limited digital exposure for children, and poor engagement levels between the teacher and the student. The digital enablement component of the project is well thought through as it allows easy adoption and adaptation across grades, subjects, languages and content types.

The aim of the digital enablement initiative is to provide inclusive and equitable education by delivering content and skills that improve engagement and outcomes for students in Government schools. It provisions for regional-language content based on NCERT (NCF) guidelines that can be accessed by students and teachers alike.

“Given the fundamental power of technology to transform lives, we looked at harnessing this power to effect change in the field of education. An inclusive and engaging environment is the base to help create the next generation of well-informed citizens for a better tomorrow. This initiative in educational technology underscores our commitment to finding solutions for sustained development and improving the quality of life and we are humbled to be a part of it,” Sadanandan CT, VP, Head - Corporate Services, Tata Communications, says.
