Ammachi labs
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s AMMACHI labs has expanded its humanitarian programme to Africa by training 25 youth in Rwanda in motorcycle service and repair, opening new employment avenues for them in a country wracked by poverty and unemployment. The two-week course involved 20 students from the Integrated Polytechnic Regional College in the Rwandan capital of Kigali and five students from the Circle de Sportiff slum located on the city’s outskirts.
The training course, delivered using computer technology, was conducted by AMMACHI labs’ Ajay Balakrishnan, content development manager, and PhD Research Associate Srividya Sheshadri, who traveled to Rwanda. “The objective was to improve the skills of a diverse group of participants by expanding their access to quality skills training using technology,” Balakrishnan said.
Mou on higher edu
The Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health of Harvard University, Boston and the OP Jindal Global University, Sonipat, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to expand and reinforce their collaborations in three areas:
First, where the two institutions will reinforce their collaboration is student engagement through an annual teaching session at Harvard for Jindal students. Second, joint conferences on themes of interest to both the institutions.
Third, the MOU opens the way for other research and educational activities mutually agreed upon between the parties, including but not limited to joint research projects.
