Skills on Wheels by tpsdi

Tata Power, recently inaugurated Tata Power Skill Development Institute’s (TPSDI) Skills on Wheels, a mobile concept to make skill trainings more accessible to people. Through this mobile training and assessment center, TPSDI will provide Recognition of Prior learning (RPl), Motor Rewinding, Solar Skills; training and accreditation to neighborhood electricians, etc.

The objective is to provide trainings to neighborhood electricians by making training opportunities more accessible to them. At one end of the container is the neighborhood electrician’s simulator for testing, which contains multiple electrical points commonly found in typical Indian homes. This is connected to an electrical motor, can be configured to create multiple faults intended to be rectified by the trainees. The container also has a variety of tools used in household electrical work and common household circuits.

Speaking on the occasion, Anil Sardana, MD & CEO, Tata Power, said: “We appreciate TPSDI’s efforts in taking forward Prime Minister’s vision of Skill India Mission. The TPSDI will next expand its footprints beyond its four training hubs through a model which will include more mobile spokes centres.
