ISM Dhanbad
The Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad will be conducting all India entrance exam for admission in:
MSc Tech in Applied Geophysics: It requires BSc degree with Physics as main subject, Mathematics as a subsidiary subject and another subsidiary subject from Chemistry, Geology, Electronics, and Statistics.
MSc Tech in Applied Geology: Three-year course require BSc degree with Geology as main subject and any two subsidiary subjects from Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
MSc in Chemistry: BSc degree with Chemistry as main subject, Mathematics as a compulsory subsidiary subject and another subsidiary from Physics, Geology, Zoology and Botany.
MSc in Applied Physics: BSc degree with Physics as main subject, Mathematics as a compulsory subsidiary subject or Mathematics as main subject with Physics as a subsidiary subject and another subsidiary subject from Chemistry, Geology, Statistics, Electronics, Computer Science, Economics and Geography, Environment and Water Management.
MSc in Mathematics and Computing: BSc degree with Mathematics as main subject and two subsidiary subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Geology, Statistics, Electronics and Computer Science.
Eligibility
For MSc and MSc Tech programmes, at least 55 per cent aggregate marks are required in honours, major or main subject only for un-reserved or OBC category candidates whereas 50 per cent aggregate marks are required for SC/ST category candidates. Applicant, born on or after October 1, 1992, is eligible for admission. Age limit for SC/ST/ PD applicant is relaxed by five years and that of OBC applicants is relaxed by three years.
Exam Pattern
The question paper will contain multiple-choice objective type questions of 100 marks from the relevant subject of entrance exam with negative marking. The medium of examination is English. The test centre are in Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Dhanbad, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, lucknow, New Delhi, Pune and Varanasi.
Important Dates
The last date for receipt of application form at ISM is April 18, 2016 and the date of entrance exam is May 15, 2016 from 9 am to 12 pm.
