University of York is offering Wolfson postgraduate scholarships in humanities for the academic year 2015-2016. These scholarships are open for both UK and international students in the field of humanities (history, literature and languages). Four scholarships will be available to PhD students applying for entry in autumn 2015, with at least one in each of the areas of history, literature and languages.
Eligibility: Must have applied for, and ideally be in receipt of an offer of a place on, a PhD programme in the relevant department. Expect to begin your PhD studies on October 1, 2015 (deferrals are not permitted). Have a first or upper second class honours degree or equivalent prior to commencing the PhD; Have completed a masters level qualification before commencing the PhD.
What does it cover: Each scholarship offers a stipend of £17,000 per year for up to three years of PhD study and includes: Full fee waiver (at home or overseas rate); Research Training and Support Grant.
