InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and Il&FS Skills, one of India’s largest skills development organisations, have today announced the launch of the 15th IHG Academy programme in India, joining over 300 IHG Academy programmes globally.
The partnership will see Il&FS Institute of Skills (IIS) providing IHG approved vocational hospitality training across the country as part of the programme. Following the three-month course, participants are able to apply for roles at IHG hotels in India and across the globe.

Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering of Manav Rachna International University (MRIU) organised a two-day workshop on Programmable logic Controller (PlC). In collaboration with Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt ltd to provide practical training on PlC kits and its programming, the event was a part of Manav Rachna Founder’s day celebration in the campus.
Speaking on the industry collaborations, Dr MK Soni, executive director & dean, MRIU, said: “The purpose is to make the aspiring engineers acquainted with the conceptual as well as practical knowledge of the industrial automation and latest technologies being used.”

Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, this year, received a record 1,047 job offers through campus recruitments out of the 1631 students registered, shattering all the past records. Around 90 per cent of the undergraduate students have got placed at the institute and we look at increasing the number in the coming few weeks and the number is definitely expected to increase in the coming years.
Out of 692 registered UG candidates with 6 CGPA, 633 national offers and 18 international offers have been made. A total 171 companies/organisations already visited to the campus (till date) for the Campus Recruitment Programme this year and 308 job offers received from the companies/organisations visited for the first time in the campus.
Dr NP Padhy, Prof In-charge, training and placement, IIT Roorkee, said: “This year extra initiatives have been taken to create more interns through alumni networking so that placement scenario in 2014-15 may attract more pre-placement offers.”
