The NIIT University invites applications for MTech programme in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). This two years technology based and research driven programme has been offered with support from Esri Inc. California, the world leader in GIS, and Esri India.
The demand for geospatial experts is expected to become wider, owing to the roll out of Government of India’s National GIS initiative, an information system, which promises to transform governance, aid planning and make life easier for the common man.
Selection process
Candidates, who meet the eligibility requirement for the programme, are required to fill an application form and also need to go through additional tests, presentations or viva that are part of the admission process. The interview parameters will include English — communication skill both written and oral, GIS awareness, computing experience and overall personality.
Merit list
The merit list of applicants is worked out based on composite criteria of assessment of background which includes academic and interview performance of the candidates, application material and marks obtained in GATE/GRE/NU Aptitude Test.
Scholarship
Scholarships, covering full and partial portion of university fees, are available for meritorious students, on a first- cum-first served basis. It will offered on academic credentials and performance in Graduate Record Examinations, or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering or NIIT University aptitude test and interview process.
