Rajasthan Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot hoisted the flag at Badi Chaupar on the occasion of Republic Day. On this auspicious occasion he asked everyone to take a pledge to work together to protect the Constitution of the country and strengthen democracy. He said that in view of the atmosphere of tension and mistrust in the country today, we need to follow the path of truth and non-violence shown by Gandhiji.
While congratulating the people of the state on Republic Day, he said that we should remember those known and unknown fighters, who sacrificed their lives to liberate this country. Many great men including Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Gopal Krishna Gokhale made an invaluable contribution under Gandhi’s guidance.
He said that Babasaheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar has given us a strong Constitution. It’s our responsibility to protect its values and strengthen democracy’s roots. Diverse religions, castes and classes live here and the country’s unity in diversity has to be maintained.
Shri Gehlot said that after independence, our country has made progress in every field including science and technology, industry and agriculture, but today efforts are being made to deny those achievements of 70 years. Former Prime Ministers, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Punjab chief minister Beant Singh preferred martyrdom rather than allowing divisive forces any success,
Shri Gehlot said that the State government successfully faced the corona epidemic. The CM said that the State government was providing sensitive, transparent and accountable governance.
