Hues like salmon pink, fluorescent, blue and evergreen ivory perfectly complemented Payal Pratap’s collection, Vintage Rose on the second day of the Amazon India Fashion Week.
The collection which was inspired by the beauty of femininity and womanhood which appreciates a woman’s charm and elegance. “It is a celebration of womanhood. As a woman, I love everything which has romantic consonance like flowers and that is why I have played with the flower motif,” shared the designer.
The first section of the collection showcased knee length dresses in black and white, moving on to more colourful skirts and blouses, and dresses. The last section brought ivory back to the center stage with structured prints and organised embroidery. The striking feature of the collection with which the designer experimented and the models carried out well was the draping of chanderi sarees with formal shirts as the blouse. “I have given a modern look to the sarees in my collection. The women of this era like to experiment and everybody loves out of the box ideas. When you pair a simple saree with a formal white shirt, it enhances the overall look,” told Pratap.
