We wonder why Gul Panag’s biking act or Rakhi Sawant’s drama couldn’t find any taker in this election while Kirron Kher, Hema Malini and Babul Supriyo silently thrashed the detractors

Mum’s the word: While AAP’s Gul Panag hit the roads on bike and did her best to impress the Chandigarh janta, it was Kirron Kher who emerged as the ultimate winner. The Bollywood’s ‘mummy’, though kept her campaigning style traditional, she defeated Panag with a huge margin of 65,000 votes.

No more drama: After being rejected by almost all parties unanimously, item girl and drama queen Rakhi Sawant decided to go on her own. However, her nautanki on TV channels couldn’t find takers as she finished little over 2,000 votes.

Classic card:  With the support of Bengal’s didi, debut politician Moon Moon Sen struck a gold. Her daughters, Raima and Riya, too upped the glam show while campaigning on Bankura streets.

Sound check: It seems Babul Supriyo has finally got an alternate career in politics. The Bollywood singer, who was fighting it out on a BJP ticket from Asansol constituency, raised eyeballs by defeating veteran CPM leader Bansagopal Chowdhury.

Real act: Paresh Rawal might have been missing from the electoral race initially, the Modi wave ensured his impressive victory in Ahmedabad-East. The popular actor, who is known to present complicate characters on screen with aplomb, has promised to do justice to this real role as well.

Show of grace:It was actually Basanti’s charisma which worked in Hema Malini’s favour this election. The actress was often seen rendering Sholay’s dialogues on the streets of Mathura. Her affinity for dances based on religious tales also helped her woo the voters.

No more sympathy: In Bollywood, there’s nothing called bad publicity. Nagma drew attention after she claimed she was molested during the campaign. However, the Meerut janta overwrote any sympathy for her.

Not this time: BJP’s surge in UP dashed hopes for others, including Jaya Prada. The former actor, with Amar Singh besides her, somehow managed to win in past but could not get lucky this time. In Bollywood jargon, there’s something called ‘comeback’

Jinxed: What else could be the better word than ‘jinx’ to describe Prakash Jha’s journey in politics. For over 15 years, he has been dreaming to make a mark in politics but he lost the chance this time too. How about Rajneeti Part 2IJ

Worst foot forward: Seems like padyatra did not fetch any attention  for Mahesh Manjrekar, who dreamt to ride high on MNS ticket from Mumbai North-West. let’s remind him he’s a good actor.

Khamosh!: If there’s one tiger in politics, he is Shatrughan Sinha. Maintaining his winning streak, he offered Bihar janta an extra dose of glamour with daughter Sonakshi. Wife Poonam, too, handled his door-to-door campaign.

Go with the flow: Guess what song Manoj Tiwari must be playing in his car todayIJ Jiya Tu Bihar Ke lala… The multi-faceted Tiwari has added one more feather to his cap by winning the Northeast Delhi constituency. Though the battle looked difficult, since the actor has hardly anything to do with the constituency, he too seemed to have fluttered in Modi’s wave. For the time being, he can big adieu to his  filmy career.
