Amrapali group’s new movie I Don’t luv U promises a new take on college romance. Team Viva reports

The much-awaited movie, I Don’t luv U, by Amrapali Group will soon hit theatres on May 17 in a grand release that covers 500 theatres. Promising to give a new take on college romances, its producer Anil Kumar Sharma says that since love is universal, the movie will be a crowd puller.

Starring Ruslaan Mumtaz and newcomer Chetna Pande the film will broadcast the darker side of college romances, where one casual mistake can lead to appalling consequences.

It focusses on a group of students of a professional college whose lives take a drastic turn when a MMS scandal surfaces.

Talking about the unique title of the movie, Sharma says that it reflects the casual attitude of today’s youngsters towards love. “What needs to be seen, is whether ‘I don’t love you’ can turn to ‘I love you,’” he adds.

The movie, with its budget of Rs 8 crore, has been produced under the banner of Amrapali Media Vision, a new wing of the Amrapali Group better known as a real estate giant. The banner had earlier produced the critically acclaimed Gandhi to Hitler.

Producer Sharma says the new movie focusses on today’s youth who will readily identify themselves with the concept.

“It is a fun-filled romance with a hint of thrill. The film tells the story of youngsters who are casual in their relationships and do not want to delve into the intricacies of true love and commitment. It contains a message you have never seen before and we are sure you will remember it for the rest of your life,” he adds.

The music of the movie is a mix of peppy, sad and sufi songs. lyricist Pallavi Mishra has written four of the ten songs, and says that she kept in mind the language of the current generation while penning verses. “The lyrics use a lot of college lingo and reflect the current generation. There is a sufi-based song called Mere Khuda which is spiritual. Javed Ali has sung the song,” she says.
