Done with small roles: Nawaz

Having risen from an actor who began his career with small bits in various films, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has clearly reached a point where he has shown not only his versatility, but also the ability to hold films on his own. The actor, who will be seen playing writer Saadat Hasan Manto and late Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray in separate films, says he's done with cameos.

He shies away from naming a favourite director or even sharing his wish list.“If I take names, the others will feel bad about it. As an actor, I only look at stories, script and most importantly my character in the film. There is also a selfishness that works and I think it's quite normal that I look for characters that will challenge me and push me.”

‘I was very good at keeping with schedules and because of that, I kind of walked away from some very great films and opportunities. When I think back, I should have been more fierce and aggressive with wanting the films and allowed the schedules to figure themselves out’

Veteran actress Sharmila Tagore, who began her career with Satyajit Ray’s 1959 Bengali film Apur Sansar at the age of a mere 13, says the late legendary filmmaker never made child artistes memorise dialogues. I started working at 13 and he never over-instructed us. I was given the script but never made to memorise the dialogues.

Unexpected ending for GOT

Actress Emilia Clarke has teased the fans of Game of Thrones, saying the finale of the fantasy series' last season will be “what none of us think it will be.”

Clarke flew to Cannes in the midst of shooting the final season of HBO's Game of Thrones — the fantasy series that features her playing Daenerys Targaryen. The actress attended the Cannes Film Festival with the cast of her forthcoming project Solo: A Star Wars Story.

She said she was not certain how all the clashes for the Iron Throne will end. “It will be what none of us think it will be,” Clarke said.

Game of Thrones started with the first season back in 2011 and the final season is set to open in 2019.
