The President of India, Pranab Mukherjee met the group of 25 differently abled Children, their four teachers and a team of 4 Assam Rifles, who are on a twelve day National Integration Tour.
The National Integration Tour has been organised by 4 Assam Rifles of headquarters 21 sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ DGAR for the special children of Tripura State. The Tour is aimed at providing the students with an exposure to the rich cultural heritage of our country and an opportunity to visit various places as also interact with dignitaries.
During the meeting, the children shared their experience of their visit to different historical places and thanked the Assam Rifles and the Government of India for organising tour of this nature. While interacting with the children, Pranab Mukherjee congratulated Assam Rifles for working in the process of National integration by organising such tours for the students of North-East and also giving an opportunity to the students to learn the socio-cultural diversity of the country. He complimented the oldest Para Military Force of the country for not only working towards maintaining peace in the North-East region but also doing social work.
