President Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated a new portal, Swavlamban.info, which brings together all the assistive devices available in India on one platform. Department of Disability Affairs in collaboration with Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC), an autonomous body under Department of Science & Technology, launched this online repository of information on aids and assistive devices for people with disabilities.
It brings together all the assistive devices available in India under one roof so that users can pick and choose easily. Besides providing an opportunity to the manufacturers to showcase their products on a common stage, this web portal will also act as an interactive platform for the users, manufacturers, researchers and other related stakeholders.
