Two persons, including a woman, were run over by the Bhopal-Delhi Shatabdi express at Bhteshwar station of NCR on Friday night.
"While Dharmendra Yadav (33) and his wife Babita (30) were run over by Delhi bound train, Yadav's 70-year-old father Ram Naresh, 6-year-old son Vasu and 4-year-old daughter Vishakha narrowly escaped," the police said.
The family was crossing the rail track at Bhuteshwar station, police added.
To make matters worse, several trains passed over the dead bodies, an official said.
