BJP leader BS Yeddyurappa on Saturday joined Jagdambika Pal as the shortest serving CM. Pal, then a Congressman and now a BJP MP, served as the Chief Minister of UP for three days from February 21, 1988 to February 23 1988 after he could not prove his majority in a trial of strength conducted under the supervision of the SC. Kalyan Singh, whose Government was dismissed by the then Governor Romesh Bhandari, subsequently retook charge as the CM.
