There is no harm if one is in love with oneself. After all if you love yourself, the chances are that you will love your neighbour as well. But there is love and then there is narcissism. If one doesn’t know the meaning of the word, then, all they have to do is go and watch MSG: The Messenger. Besides the fact that our lead actor, in this case sant Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has his fingers in each aspect of filmmaking — from directing to producing to singing, to writing the lyrics to doing the stunts himself — the list of what all he has done is the film is endless — the bigger picture is that he changes clothes at the drop of a hat.

One actually lost count of the number of times he changed his clothes. Clothes maketh the man, and our guruji or as people call him — pitaji — has taken it to another level all together. And the only explanation for his flamboyant and flashy clothes is that insaan ki pehchan kapdoon se nahin hoti. SeriouslyIJ This coming from a man who in each shot has a new get up and he is in each and every shot. So one can only guess how many outfits he changed in the entire 197 running time of the film.

This is of course about the hero. As for the movie or should one even call it one — it would perhaps been better for the lesser mortals if Pitaji would have stuck to making a documentary on himself. At least the non-believers would have been spared this rather excruciatingly awful movie which doesn’t have much connect expect his followers.

We do understand that drinking, doing drugs and smoking is bad for our health. We also know that we should donate blood and we should do ann daan. However, there are limits to how much preaching one can take in a movie. But here is a bit on an eye-opener. His fans and followers will probably want your blood for saying anything against their baba because his fans, from the very first scene, it will have them clapping,  singing, cheering him and whistling each time he will make an entry — be it to sing a song, beat the baddies or do the stunts. Even our Sallu bhai may not ever get the kind of adulation that guruji will get from his bhakts in this movie.

Overall the film has dialogues that don’t make much sense, has funny stunts, funnier villains and a sant for a hero.

So should one go for this movieIJ Well, only if you are his follower.
