Due to the present pandemic any movie that talks about humans dying or completely wiped out by 2050 is bound to make one want to watch even if this is not about a virus killing off the entire human population but an alien species that crash landed in 946 AD or even before.

Directed by Chris McKay, The Tomorrow War is not a unique sci-fi film where the present and the future collide — the future coming in to warn the present human population of an apocalypse or more specifically ugly as sin and disgusting looking aliens who are here on Earth because we are food.

Over the years, many movies have been where the aliens look horrible, which is a bit difficult to understand. Why make aliens look so disgusting and that too with strange tentacles and even uglier teeth? Just because they are aliens doesn’t mean they need to be horrible to look at. Humans may appear ugly to other species, if they exist, on other planets but at last we have better teeth.

Chris Pratt plays a father who wants to save his daughter in the future is on a mission — no guesses who he goes after. Yes, the aliens with a toxin that his daughter created in the future which he brings back in the past, which is the present. A bit confused? Don’t be. If one has seen movies like the Back to the Future series, this one is cakewalk. No prize if one got the answer right at first go.

And yet, there is something akin to catharsis when watching this one — it is fun and exciting if one loves to watch sci-fi films; one definitely wants to go back to probably the year 2014-15 and stop the research on man-made Coronavirus. At least, one could then sit in the cinema hall and watch this movie with no fear of getting infected.
