Sasuraal Simar ka to go off air
The long-running show Sasuraal Simar Ka is finally all set to go off air next month and is likely to be replaced by Devanshi starring Aamir Dalvi and Karuna Pandey. Running since April 25, 2011 having completed 1,598 episodes on August 18, was receiving low TRPs of around 1.7. What started off as a family drama turned into a sci-fi by introducing icchadhaari naagins, daayans, makkhi, and much more which garnered a lot of TRPs in March this year, Avika Gor made her exit from the show to take a much-needed a break. The ratings slid again after the show took a 20-year-leap and the show returned to being a family drama. Moreover, the time slot of the show was changed from primetime 7.30 pm to 6 pm. The producer of the show Rashmi Sharma refused to comment on the end. Another new show Dhadkan is also in the pipeline and will be releasing in October.
Plex-experience on sony
Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) strengthens its position in the English cluster with the launch of Sony le PlEX HD, an English Movie High Definition channel. The new channel went live on August 23, 2016 with a proposition to serve audiences who seek entertainment beyond mainstream Hollywood movies.
The channel will be catering to a varied set of audiences owing to its diverse range of movies. Sony le PlEX boasts of 400 plus movie titles that include 200 award winning movies with over 500 awards to their name.
Sony le PlEX HD will bring alive a true plex-experience on the television sets through their unique channel packaging and slot names like The Night Show The Noon Show & le Premiere.
The channel has partnered with director, Zoya Akhtar and has Saurabh Yagnik, EVP and Business Head, English Cluster, Sony Pictures Networks India.
Bigg Boss promo launched
India’s biggest controversial reality show Bigg Boss is back with its 10th season and, this time, the spotlight is on the common man! Being driven by the aam aadmi for the very first time, the show is slated to go on-air soon to provide an uninhibited glimpse into the many personalities that make our daily lives oh-so-interesting!
In the first promo, that went on air on Saturday, Salman was seen talking about how history will be rewritten in the Bigg Boss House this time when common men and women enter it for the first time. He says: “Jab chand par dikha insaan pehli baar ya ande se nikli murgi pehli baar, tab create hua itihaas. Ab aam public aa rahi hai pehli baar in Bigg Boss to create history but kya hoga that is the mystery. Bigg Boss season 10 with common women and men.”
The other BB10 promo shoots will also be a visual treat for Salman Khan fans, as the actor will don many different looks while interacting with the aam janata.
As the season opens the door to the common people to be a part of the show, it will see varied personalities from different walks of life being a part of the show.
