Selection process to choose CCl Ke lal and CCl Ki ladli, a CSR initiative of Central Coalfields limited (CCl), began in Ranchi, where a total of 25 boys and 11 girls are to be selected on the basis of marks secured in class X by them.

CCl under its CSR programme has been providing free educational support along with boarding and lodging facilities to meritorious boys and girls of rural background in its project areas to give them an opportunity to compete with urban students staying in the cities. These students, after being selected for the programme, are enrolled at DAV Gandhinagar School in Ranchi.

“They have to submit a form and those students having secured highest marks will be selected and enrolled in DAV Gandhinagar where all of their expenses including fooding, lodging and other individual requirements are met by the company free of cost,” said Manager PR Anupam Rana.

Best part of this programme is that the most of the Engineers who have passed out from IITs and other premiere institutes, also guide the students as and when they are free, added Rana.

Application forms could be downloaded from the site of CCl and the duly filled up form could either be submitted at CSR department at Darbhanga House or the offices of various command areas of CCl.A total of 25 boys and 11 girls are to be selected for the programme this year.

Notably, all 17 boys enrolled for the programme last year, have qualified for IIT and have also scored well in board examination. One of the boys from a very humble background has scored 99 per cent (Physics-98, Chemistry-99 and Maths-100) in board examination.

The last date for submission of the duly filled-up forms is June 10.

Selection will be made in two groups. Fifteen boys will be selected under Group A that is meant for those residing in areas adjoining CCl collieries while the rest 10 could be anyone from non-CCl background.

Those selected under Group A will be admitted to DAV Gandhinagar in Plus-two and will be offered free coaching, stay and food while the Group B boys will have to arrange their own food and lodging. Only free coaching will be provided to them.
