In the wake of the exceptional measures to maintain peace and security on the occasion of festival of Eid-Ul-Fitr, Ranchi District Administration has made special security arrangements in across the District. Eid -Ul- Fitr will be celebrated on May, 25.
Despite the relaxations announced in the fourth phase of lockdown, religious and other large gatherings are still banned.
Ranchi Superintendent of Police (SP), Sourabh informed that extra police force will be deployed at busiest and sensitive sites in the City and rest parts of the District to maintain peace and traditional brotherhood on the occasion of Eid. "In a move to prevent gatherings at religious and busiest places the District Administration will deploy a large numbers of police forces," he said.
The SP said that the talks are going on with the religious leaders to convince the people to offer prayer from their home so that the global epidemic caused by Coronavirus could be prevented. The people will have to follow all norms of social distancing while celebrating the festival and the talks are also going on with the leaders to convince people in this regard, he added.
"Round-the-clock police patrolling has also been intensified for maintaining full security across the District at all other small and major places and villages across the area. The Police force has been put on high alert and vigilance to ensure foolproof security arrangements at the busiest shopping centers and the places of worships - the Mosques of all sects besides the open places across the District," said Sourabh.
Keeping in view of the lockdown measures community leaders and clerics have stepped in to urge people to stay off-streets. General Secretary of Anjuman Islamia Ranchi, Mokhtar Ahmed said that at this time, the only way to prevent Coronavirus is social distancing only until there is no medicine.
Ahmad has appealed to people to try to take precaution to avoid Kovid-19 like they have been treated till now. Due to the Corona crisis in the Country, the lock-down has been extended for the fourth time till May 31, so it has been decided not to offer Eid prayers in Idgahs and Mosques under Anjuman Islamia and the Central and the State Government also forbade this, he added.
"During the lock-down, we did not offer any Namaz, including Namaz of Juma, at the mosques. Even the last Juma of the month of Tarawih and Ramadan, which is said goodbye, is that the Namaz was not recited in mosques and people offered Zohar prayers in their homes instead of Zuma prayers," said Ahmad.
