Garhwa’s new Superintendent of Police Shivani Tiwari stressed over zero-tolerance towards crime soon after taking charge. Besides, regulating traffic, people-friendly policing and maintaining peace in the district would also be on her priority list. To deal with naxals activities and anti-social elements, the SP appealed to the people to cooperate and have faith in the police.
She said it was the duty of residents to inform the police if they noticed any suspicious activity. “The people here are good. I will try to live up to their expectations,” the SP said adding that she would be available around the clock for the people to solve their grievances. Shivani Tiwari is a 2011 batch IPS officer and only the 2nd woman to become SP of Garhwa after Nirmla Amitabh Chaudhry.
