PNS

Maoist rebels today launched a poster campaign at Mayapur village of Peterwar block of Bermo sub-division to condemn the ongoing dispute between Ramesh Ganju and Dina Kamar. Maoists warmed Dina Kumar to withdraw rape case of his daughter, which was lodged against Ramesh Ganju.

The CPI (Maoist) rebels put up posters in Hindi, at public places, trees and house wall of Rohar village under Peterwar police station area. Some posters were also strewn on the ground at Mayapur panchayat villages.

Superintendent of police of Bokaro Karthik S said a villager informed police about the posters this morning. “It came to our notice after I have received a call from Peterwar police in- Charge .We later found that the rebels had actually stuck the posters and seized them,” he said.

Meanwhile, the posters triggered panic in the business class and local transporters complaining that the area was no longer safe for them in view of the frequent movement of rebels.

The SP added that the police and paramilitary forces have launched a joint combing operation, which is still on, at Mayapur panchayat areas and its adjoining areas to trace the rebels.

The joint combing operation, which is also being seen as an area domination exercise, is aimed at flushing out rebels from their holds.
