Ranchi police have arrested a 22-year-old domestic help involved in stealing jewelleries and cash from different houses where she used to work. Stolen jewelleries and cash worth Rs 2.5 lakh have also been recovered from her possession.
“A case was registered with Gonda Police Station on August 18 by three different people alleging their maid servant Sunita Kumari of stealing cash and Jewelleries worth Rs 2.5 lakh. Taking a swift action the girl was taken into remand and questioned where she admitted that she had stolen valuables from the three houses. later the stolen jewelleries and cash were recovered from her possession,” said SP City Kishore Kaushal. Two golden bangles, three golden rings, two diamond rings, 5 lockets, one golden chain and 8 ear rings have been recovered from her possession, he added.
Police said that she also admitted her involvement in two other such cases which took place in the month of February. Case was registered by Rito Parna Roy, Subrajit Das and Anandita Bishwas, all residents of CMPDI Colony under Gonda Police Station.
