Under the joint aegis of Environment Control Department and Town Administration (Horticulture) under the call of Green Bokaro-Clean Bokaro and intensive tree plantation campaign of Bokaro Steel Plant “Plantation of Trees by Participation” program is being organized. Under this campaign, residents of the city will be able to get saplings of Neem, Gulmohar, Karanj, Jamun, Amla, Babul, Kachnar, Sheesham, Akasia etc. free of cost from various centers of the city.
These plants will be distributed in Sector-9 Maintenance Center, Sector-12 Community Building, Kumar Mangalam Stadium Sector-4, City Park Sector-4 and via Mobile Van at Environment Control Department from 10 am to 4 pm. Sharing information COC M K Dhan said During the financial year 2021-2022, Bokaro Steel Plant plans to plant 2 lakh saplings of different varieties in the plant premises and city, under which 1 thousand saplings have been planted in the plant premises. Apart from this, 20 thousand saplings will be distributed free of cost under the "Plantation by Participation" program which people can plant in or near their homes.
Bokaro Steel Plant has been playing a leading role in the direction of environmental protection since its inception.
