Essar Power on Thursday released financial results for the year ending March 2013, with net sales growing 72 per cent from Rs1,378 crore to Rs2,371 crore. Total power generation also rose 85 per cent and reached 9,061 million units on the back of 152 per cent rise. The private power major though has some sign of worry on the Jharkhand front. Construction progress for its Tori I and Tori II was just 42 per cent and 17 per cent. “Completion of the Tori projects is dependent on timely receipt of regulatory approvals,” says a Press release. The standstill affected overall profit after tax that remained Rs512 crore against a profit of Rs335 crore in FY12. Salaya power plant has also incurred some problem.
