Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Saturday said that after the independence of the country and the formation of the State, there has been no development in the field of education among tribals, dalits and minority sections as expected. “There is still a great need for improvement in the field of education. The present government is constantly striving to advance the level of education. The government is solving the systemic problems of the education sector. I believe that there are many challenges before me, but with the support of all of you, these challenges will be converted into opportunities,” he said.

The CM, while addressing participants at a seminar-cum-workshop organized on the topic ‘Challenges and possibilities in the education of tribals and Dalits’  here on Saturday said, “Missionary institutions have been doing better work for the development of education for centuries, I am confident that in future, the cooperation of these institutions will continue to be available to all sections of society.”

Soren further said, “We all still have a big responsibility to carry the state forward. The state has been formed after a lot of struggle. It is the duty of all of us to strengthen all the expectations of the people including the culture, education of Jharkhand. We are always striving to fulfill our role as leaders for the overall development of this State with commitment. I have an emotional association with the tribal, Dalit and minority sections of Jharkhand. Being emotional connected people often ask us about the development of tribal, dalit and minority. From the very first day of the formation of the government, work is being done to solve the basic problems. The government is working to move ahead by contemplating many new things with much thought and contemplation. The government is continuously working with honesty in the field of education. With the support of all of you, the government will work out a long-term action plan to improve the standard of education,” he said.

The CM said that for the first time in the country, Jharkhand is a State where talented students belonging to scheduled castes, tribes, who want to study abroad for higher education, will get assistance under ‘Foreign Education Scholarship’ scheme by the government. “Assistance is being given to all the board students who pass matriculation in the State. A tribal university will be set up in the State with the objective of providing a platform to the children of tribal communities. Many educational institutions of the state government are already offering nursing-ANM etc courses for girls, our government has now started nursing and ANM courses for boys also so that they can also be linked with employment,” he said.

The CM said that the State Government is working to provide loans of Rs 50,000 to Rs 25 lakh through banks for the purpose of connecting the ST-SC youths here with employment. The CM said that for the first time in the State, our government has done the work of framing the JPSC Rules. In order to have better school placement work, a school appointment manual has been prepared. He said that in order to provide better education facility even in the remote areas of the State, work is being done to equip 4500 schools in a new way.

Soren said that education is very important in this materialistic era. Education is the only way to stop social malpractices. Education is the mainstay of mental development. “Our government is working on furthering the arrangements in the field of education. We will move forward with the support of all of you,” he said.
