Defection: Ganjhu cross-examined

PNS

Former JVM legislator Ganesh Ganjhu on Friday appeared before the tribunal of Assembly Speaker Dinesh Oraon where he was also cross- examined. Minister in the Raghubar Das Government Amar Kumar Bauri was also scheduled to present before the court but he could not on health grounds.

Informing about the turn of events unfolded inside the court, JVM lawyer RN Sahay said that Ganesh Ganjhu claimed similar things about the so called merger of the JVM into the BJP, which happened soon after Assembly polls in 2015.

“He said that a meeting of the party was called in which a decision about merging JVM into the BJP was taken. JVM supremo Babulal Marandi was also to take part but he could not attend the meeting.

I asked him had you people given in writing about the plan to the JVM chief as you claimed you informed the Speaker after the mergerIJ His answers were dissatisfactory,” said the advocate.

Out of six MlAs in question two namely Navin Jaiswal and Ganesh Ganjhu have already been cross examined against their written submissions presented in the form of affidavit before the tribunal. Amar Kumar Bauri, Alok Chaurasia, Randhir Singh and Janki Prasad Yadav are yet to be countered by the prosecution side. Bauri along with one more MlA is expected to depose on May 18, the next date of hearing.
