Chatra district's Piparwar area of CCl has done better to conserve environment and it has set an example for other areas of the company. On the occasion of World Environment Day 2015, the Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board has awarded Piwarwar Area with "Environment Award" for carrying out mining activities with minimum use of energy and management of water. Chief Guest and former Principal Secretary of Jharkhand M. Singh and Chairman of JSPCB A K Mishra gave prize to Piparwar Area at BNR Chanakya, Ranchi.
Congratulating the Piparwar area of CCl, Gopal Singh said that trees and plants are friends of human beings and it is our responsibility not to only conserve forest but also play pro-active role in making environment more beautiful. CCl plants three acre of forest against one acre of land use. This is the only reason that after completion of mining activities, the place becomes more green and lush and ultimately it is leading to increase of "green cover" in command area of CCl.
CCl in its headquarters and command areas has planted more than 1 crore 54 lakh saplings till date. The company has been committed to conserve forest.
