BJP leader flays State Home Dept officials

State Home, Prisons and Disaster Management department Ranchi is in the line of fire. Senior BJP leader R K Kishore, who is the chief whip of the party in the Assembly, has flayed the department for delinking police stations from Daltonganj sub division.

The State Home department  has first delinked Paton and Nawa Jaipur police stations from the command and control of a DSP that sits and holds his office in Daltonganj. The two police stations have been attached to a newly set up office of the sub division of police at Lesliganj. A total of seven police stations are under the territorial jurisdiction of this new Lesliganj sub divisional police office.

This has irked MLA Kishore, who today proved with conviction that Home department officials have done a terrible blunder. He said he would take down this issue before the Chief Minister exhorting him to reverse the order and to maintain the status quo.

He said Paton is 25 Kms away from Daltonganj office of DSP. With a new creation of office of sub divisional police at Lesliganj, people from Paton will have to cover a total of 41 Kms from Paton to Lesliganj via Daltonganj as distance between Daltonganj and Lesliganj is 16 Kms.

Similarly, Nawa Jaipur is 41 Kms away from Daltonganj DSP office which will now be 57 Kms for reaching this office at Lesliganj. Bigger the distance larger the holes in the pockets of the common people seeking any redressal from sub divisional police officer, reiterated Kishore.

“Is this a pro people work?  Are Home department officials taking the common people for a big ride?  Decision on table with the help of map and then a carve out has become an in thing with the officials,” Kishore said with utmost distaste for this decision.

He wanted to know if SP Palamu was taken into confidence before delinking and linking of these 2 police stations or just a notification was done without any concern or consideration as to whether this will be a populist measure or one which will antagonize people at such a time when two elections are round the corners.

Kishore said, “This highly impractical and arbitrary tagging will have a far reaching social impact and before it causes more damages it is time for the Home department to roll back this decision of it.”
