The Advisors to Governor held a meeting on May 9 to review progress made on the plan works in the first quarter of the year 2013-14 in which both the Advisors stressed upon timely completion of construction projects to make the benefits reach to the people.
They also insisted on spending money towards the end of the previous financial year and instructed all departments to provide details of the expenditure to the Planning and Development Department, laying further emphasis on regular monitoring of the expenditures.
Reviewing the projects of labour, Employment & Training department, Advisor to Governor, Madhukar Gupta said the projects run by departments are similar hence there is a need for examining them by holding a separate review meeting and issued instruction to the Development Commissioner to arrange a separate meeting. A list of works and engineers entrusted with the duty to complete the work should be prepared for all districts, added Gupta. Chief Secretary, R.S.Sharma said all departments and officials should provide their e-mail addresses to facilitate communication of meetings through emails.
Development Commissioner A.K.Sarkar and Principal Secretaries of the departments of Power, Rural Development, Welfare, Human Resource Development, Animal Husbandry & Dairy Development, Road Construction, Finance , Agriculture & Sugarcane Development, Panchayati Raj and others were present in the meeting.
